CWT Journal – August 3, 2026 / Lyon

Today was our first Race2Adventure race! Dad and McLaren tackled the 4.5-mile course together while Mom and Finley volunteered at the finish line, helping provide first aid to runners. Later we explored the beautiful city of Lyon, visiting the stunning Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière overlooking the city. We wandered through the famous traboules—hidden passageways woven through Old Lyon that once allowed silk weavers to transport their fabrics and were later used by the French Resistance during World War II. We also learned how Lyon became the center of France's silk industry, making the city's history come alive as we walked its streets. Before heading back, we stopped by a Louis Vuitton store where Mom found a purse she absolutely loved—and we learned that buying Louis Vuitton in France is much more affordable than back home. It was a day filled with teamwork, history, and adventure.
