CWT Journal – August 10, 2026 / Nice

We finally woke up feeling rested! Mom and Dad started the day with a workout, then we headed into Old Town Nice on a mission: watches for the girls. Hopefully this would finally put an end to the approximately 10,000 daily questions of, “How long until…?”

Mission accomplished, we rented two-seater e-bikes and cruised along the Promenade des Anglais, stopping, of course, for ice cream—which has basically become a required daily medication in the French summer heat.

That evening, Mom and Dad returned to Old Town to meet the remaining R2A staff for an excellent sushi feast. Afterward, we wandered into the heart of Vieux Nice and stumbled into what felt like Mardi Gras—packed streets, performers, music, food, drinks, and incredible energy everywhere we looked.

A quick e-bike ride home, some frantic last-minute packing, and then off to bed. Tomorrow: Barcelona and the beginning of Spain!
