CWT Journal – August 18, 2026 / Valencia

Today we said goodbye to Madrid and hit the road for Valencia. After four hours of driving, we arrived at our new apartment just off the beach—only to discover that the air conditioning was apparently more decorative than functional. Despite blowing constantly, the apartment remained a balmy 31°C (88°F), exactly the same temperature as outside.

After accepting that we had essentially rented a very expensive sauna, Dad arranged a refund and found another place about a mile down the road. It's considerably more expensive, but with four people, luggage, and Spanish summer heat, desperate times call for functioning HVAC.

So tomorrow, we move again. Another CWT curveball—but so far we've continued to adapt, overcome, and keep moving forward.

“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.”often attributed to Albert Einstein

Or, perhaps more appropriate tonight:

“Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.”
