CWT Journal – August 15, 2026 / Royal Palace, Madrid

Today we toured Madrid's magnificent Royal Palace, exploring about 30 of its 3,000+ rooms filled with chandeliers, frescoes, priceless artwork, and centuries of Spanish royal history. Interestingly, Spain's royal family no longer lives here—the palace is now primarily used for state ceremonies and official events. Not a bad place to keep around for company.

That evening we experienced something truly special: flamenco at Corral de la Morería, one of the world's most celebrated flamenco venues. The intimate room, soulful a cappella singing, rhythmic clapping and guitar, and incredibly passionate dancing were absolutely mesmerizing. You didn't need to understand a word to understand the emotion.

What a night—and one of those experiences that could only truly happen in Spain.
